How do Fleetsmart’s car trackers work?

Our car tracking devices utilise cutting-edge GPS technology to establish a seamless connection with satellites and provide highly accurate location data. This information is then securely transmitted to our servers through a reliable network, and can be conveniently accessed through our intuitive Fleetsmart app.

Can I install the motorhome tracking device myself?

Yes, the tracking device can be installed by yourself or professionally by our team, depending on which tracker you opt for.

How long does it take to install a car tracker?

Standard professional installation typically takes around 30-45 minutes; we typically arrange for a 1-hour appointment per vehicle. Non-standard installations with remote immobilisation or in-vehicle cameras can take longer; please speak to your sales representative to discuss installation time for extra functionality. For a quicker installation, our self-fit devices can take as little as 15 minutes per vehicle. Setup is super simple and we will even provide a video to show you exactly what to do.

What is the difference between self fit and professional devices?

The key difference is the complexity of the installation. Some users prefer the simplicity of the self-fit device, while others prefer the covert installation of the professional unit for added levels of security. It’s also worth noting that our professional trackers offer some additional features, such as the Driver Behaviour Suite.

Can I track the cars from my mobile device?

Yes, Fleetsmart’s advanced software is accessible from any device with internet access, including mobile phones, tablets, and computers.

We’ve been using Fleetsmart for about 3 years

I can’t rate them highly enough. I just really appreciate the simplicity of the whole thing. Helpful staff on live chat, easy appointments for new tracker fitting. Simple system/dashboard that actually works. The fact that I don’t have to think about the trackers means a lot!

Great Service from Fleet Smart

The service was good and especially the exceptional customer service of Steve Bristow and Danny Jones, I reached out to your company and within 5 minutes Danny had responded to my enquiry.

After helping me, Danny then set me up on a video call with Steve where I was shown through the system, all on the same afternoon. It’s nice to deal with a company that actually puts the effort into their customers.

So pleased we made the move!

Steve & Abbie at Fleetsmart have been amazing from start to finish – after having a terrible experience with another firm re communication they understood what was important to us and have done nothing but reassure us that we won’t have a bad service like we have previously. They are so friendly and helpful, we are so pleased to be working with them.

jemma criddle - January 16, 2026

Excellent service appointment

We needed a service appointment for one of our vehicles as the gps was only working in the UK and Netherlands. I spoke with Abbie who swiftly sorted out a service appointment. The engineer, James was really cheerful, arrived on time a quickly changed the gps sensor. All in all a great experience. We have been with Fleetsmart for about 6 months and could not fault them.
